DauphineDreams: Writings About the Travels of Life

In 2005, I created this blog as a real time journal of my post-Katrina experience and have continued it to this day. The mini-essays, observations and little bits of "flash nonfiction" published here now span several continents and almost a decade of my life. I hope you enjoy them! Greetings from somewhere in the Atlantic and welcome to my blog! I am currently sailing with the Research Vessel Heraclitus as we make our way across the sea to Tangiers, Morocco and Spain. This is the last leg of a six-year exploratory mission that started in Australia six years ago and will end at the Black Sea sometime next year. I will attempt to send emails as much as possible from the ship, but because of the particular email system we are using (based on radio frequencies) sometimes I cannot for a while. If I haven't posted in a while and you would like an update on how the ship and crew are doing in general, log on to www.rvheraclitus.org and click on the blog. It is updated frequently with our coordinates and weather encounters. I will also be writing some entries in it as well. I hope you have a wonderful summer. Travel safe and I wish you good winds!
